Our Evolution tournaments are held each term at Brenchley & Matfield Tennis Club and are a great opportunity to put what they have learned in their lessons into action. The competitions are open to all juniors who are able to rally, and if you are unsure if your child is ready, then do get in touch with us and we will guide you. You do not need to be a member or play with Evolution Tennis, we welcome every-one. Whether this is their first tournament, or they are focused on improving their ITF World Tennis Number rating (the new LTA player rating system introduced in Spring 2021), we are on hand to help. Our tournaments are key to developing their competitive play, and give them the opportunity to play against new opponents. We teach them how match play works in the comfort and safety of our nurturing environment. Our tournaments are as much about having fun and building confidence, as they are about helping your children channel their competitive edge, allowing them to experience what it is like to play in a competition. This could be their stepping stone to their competitive play.

Please don’t worry if your children are nervous, we all have to start somewhere. Our aim is for children to enjoy their time so they are not put off by competitive play. Our experienced coaches will be on hand to explain what to do, and to guide your children. You can guarantee there will be many other children feeling just the same, and it is such a joy to watch as they forget about their wobbles and get well and truly stuck into their games. This is often when we see their best tennis.

Our tournaments are run in either a round robin, or knockout draw format, dependent on how many children are playing in their age group. Each child has opportunity to play a number of different match-es against different opponents. Our tournaments are split by ball colour, which is dependent on the children’s age, in line with LTA guidelines. When you book online, please select your child’s age group and we will make sure they are where they should be.

All our Evolution juniors are given the opportunity to play in the Kent LTA Junior Leagues, and although we know this is not for everyone, we will actively encourage & support those players who would like to represent our club. This is great starting place and we can’t wait to see them in action!
